Did anyone switch from EBF to FF around 10 months?

How did it go? How did you encourage your baby to take the bottle/sippy cup?

Watching with interest my DS is 6 months so a bit younger but is refusing a bottle...

At 10 months? Mine used the tommee tippee free flow flip top cup. www.tommeetippee.co.uk/product/first-cup/

I think it's £2 in the supermarket and dishwasher safe. I just gave her the cup to play with from 6mo and by 10mo she's drinking large amounts from it. You'd have to wean them off bottles from 1yo, so it's rather a pointless exercise to go to bottles. And most bf babies I know struggled with plastic teats. They just don't get the idea of actually sucking the plastic to get milk/water out. The free flows are easier because they can understand water/milk comes out if they tip the cup over. Mine spent ages playing with the cup btw.

Good luck.

Done this twice with my BM-obsessed, bottle-refusing DSs. DS1 eventually took the Tommee Tippee freeflow cup described below. DS2, weaned on to formula just two weeks ago, prefers the softer freeflow Nuk sippy spout. Either way, I wouldn't bother with a bottle now if I were you.

I'm afraid I had to do gradual cold turkey: cutting down on the feeds over a couple of weeks so I didn't get too engorged, then one day stopping and only offering the cup. Not the nicest way to end the BF relationship tbh, but I needed to do it for my sanity, and both boys are fine. At 10mo they were both scoffing a lot of food too; I wouldn't have done it at 6mo tbh.
