Posterior tongue ties - Bristol - Private?

I'm waiting for a response from NHS referral and becoming increasingly anxious.

8 week old has dropped from 75th centime to 9th and now on 2nd centile.

Are there any specialists who can help?

Which hospital have you been referred to? I had some problems getting the referral sorted for the St Ms clinic as somehow my paperwork was lost between midwives and clinic, so I'd try to chase it up personally if you can. I had no luck finding anyone privately in Bristol, there's a private clinic in Cardiff but don't know if they do posterior ties.

Thanks for the advice re chasing up the appointment. I found number for Southmead which went through to voicemail. The Infant Feeding Specialist is on holiday until the 8th April!! ...I'm currently fuming ...how can that be acceptable in a service which supports small babies ability to eat? What is the point of all the breastfeeding propaganda when only lip service is paid to resolving problems when they occur?

Maybe see if the clinic at St. Michaels can see you in the mean time? They only have a clinic on Wednesdays.

Was your baby born at Southmead? The infant feeding team there only see babies born there now. There are 2 specialist midwives there so I'm surprised that they are both away until the 8th. I know the referral at St Michaels can take longer, which is so frustrating. Can your HV help push a referral? I really feel for you, have experience of a late posterior tt diagnosis and every day counts in terms of getting it seen to esp if you're in pain too. Hope you get it sorted ASAP

I have a contact for someone who used to work in that department, and still works at Southmead in a different role, but I saw her very recently, privately for Breastfeeding help. She is lovely and I am sure would be able to point you to the right person
