Hi, I'm new to the site and would appreciate some advice. Am bf my nine month old son, who is the worlds most fussy eater. I've been trying since he was five months, to introduce him to solids, but he's just not interested. He'll have the occasional baby fromage frais, but that's about it. I've tried just about every thing, from ricing potatoes, to straining peas, to letting someone else have a go, and he just won't have any of it! I still want to carry on feeding, but not several times a day- I'm sure this is why he's waking up for a feed every two hours in the night. If anyone's got any tips, you will be my saviour and will have happy thoughts conducted your way forever! Thanks

have you tried mixing the food your trying with lots of ebm? try him on a mostly milk version first and gradually decrease the amount of milk. also try sweeter foods as bm is very sweet so it'll be more similar.

another thing, try giving him a rusk dipped in milk that he can hold himself and chew on, he might just be independant and want to do it himself

i'm sure you know this but try giving him the solids when he's had a little feed but isn't full as he'll be most receptive then

good luck!

My dd1 went through a stage at about this age where she wouldn't eat if we were 'watching' so to speak.

She was eating fairly lumpy stuff by this age but I just used to put it in front of her and let her stick her hands in it, she would then put her hands well, everywhere, but sometimes in her mouth.

This way she got used to the textures and tastes. She would sometimes take the odd spoon if she could still have her hands in it!

I obviously didn't leave her alone before anyone shouts at me for being irresponsible, just didn't sit staring at her! iyswim!

Oh yeah and now shes eats like its gonna be stolen!
