Question about periods and long term breastfeeding

DS2 is over 17 months and still breast fed and I still havent had a period....

I had long cycles before and ds2 still feeds regularly, inlcuding at night.

I am not bothered about no periods - less hassle and DEFINITELY not trying conceive - but just wondered how long is 'normal'
any experiences?

Hi popsycal, my dd is 27 months now, still bfing and I still haven't had a period. I have never met anyone else who has gone this long though.

I have read that some women don't get AF back until they stop bfing completely. I would love to get mine back, and start trying to conceive again, but really enjoy bfing and don't want to stop. I also struggle with being a bit underweight, so think that might have something to do with it.
