DS2 is 3 months today and for the last few nights he has had a feed around 6.30pm, gone to sleep around 7.30pm, woken up at 7am but not seemed hungry til 7/8.30am - so going 12/14 hours without a feed!

It is great that he is sleeping through, but I have a niggling memory of HV telling me with DS1 that they shouldnt go more than around 6hours without a feed or it can somehow negatively effect their mental development or something???

Tried a dreamfeed last night about 10.30pm and he downed 6oz but then he was restless pretty much all night. Anyone know anything about this - should I worry about the long gap between feeds or just count my blessings and enjoy it while it lasts?!

(He is bottle fed as breastfeeding didnt work out for us :()

It's been a while but from what I remember with DD when I was feeding her it was all about weight gain. If they're gaining weight then that's fine, if they're not or losing it then you need to feed them more frequently. Even if you have to wake them up.

Agree with Maghag - if he is gaining weight, producing wet and dirty nappies and seems well, then it's probably fine? How often does he feed in the day?

As long as weigh in all good. I think that's fantastic. Dd was just the same....

If he is gaining weight fine then I wouldn't worry at all. And count your lucky stars Smile

Agree with the other posters if he's putting on weight well and growing I think it's great that he's sleeping through the night! If he was hungry I'm sure he'd let you know about it! DS started sleeping through the night at 5 months and my friends babies all seemed to sleep through at about 3-4 months.
