Awful diarrhoea and hormones after stopping bfing

I have posted about my nightmare hormones a couple of weeks ago, they have now gone to new levels Confused

DD is nearly 3. I've been bfing her all that time, although latterly for the past year or so just one small feed at night to get her to sleep. Stopped this just over a month ago and in the run up to AF had awful PMT and associated anxiety. I've been struggling with post period cramps (as usual) past few days and then last night in the period of 20 minutes I went from fine to having had 4 loads of awful diarrhoea and in bed shaking non stop. The loo trips were frequent for an hour or so and then it stopped. I didn't have stomach ache at all or feel ill or viral. I hadn't eaten anything different to usual. Today I'm fine just a bit weak and wobbly.

A couple of people have since said they experienced diarrhoea after their period after stopping bfing. So, is this a common thing? How many months might it last for? How long till the dratted hormones go back to normal? Can I do anything to help it or stop it happening? My hormones have always been extremely, shall we say sensitive, to the point where I can't use hormone birth control and had an extremely difficult pg with them.

Sorry for all the questions and possibly tmi, just feeling really down about this and hoping it doesn't go on for months.

Thanks painty honestly I have NEVER experienced diarrhoea like it! It was so sudden and servere. I often get a bit of looseness but this was completely something else.

FWIW it took me 6 months to get back to normal after being on the pill (well, 6 months to be vaguely normal, a year before completely back to normal). Daily headaches with visual disturbances, prescription anti emetics for the nausea, and frequent dizziness for 6 months non stop . It was awful! Hope this isn't as bad.
