Baby vomiting milk out of nose...

My second son is 18 weeks and EBF. He has a bottle of expressed milk as a dream feed between 10-11 but other than that has milk from the source as opposed to from a bottle (save below). I have a v fast let down and these days he takes 5 mins a side.

Last few weeks he has on occasion vomited milk and it has came out of his nose - quite a bit. He seems to find it quite distressing at the time but is fine afterwards. It has generally happened when he has been laid on the floor after a feed (about half an hour after, not immediately) but has happened when he has been sat upright. Though it didn't ever happen with my first son (EBF and had the same let down issues tho less sever first time round) I figured no big deal.

However this morning he had a feed at 7:30 and my boobs were massive and really full so he took one side (the most aggressive side) only which was prob 5-6 oz in five mins. About 15 mins later he projectile vomited everywhere - I mean must have been the entire feed, all involved totally soaked, he to the skin - and it was coming out of his nose pretty aggressively. Also for the last few nights he has been waking 1.5hrs ish after bed time (which is half 6 - 7) really crying and squirming about, when picked up burps and sometimes a little vom, then settles again. Tonight he did he same and when I checked his sheet he had vomited.

He is winded during feed and will often burp, sometimes do a big sick sometimes a little one, sometimes nothing. He seems to go through phases where he will be very sicky and then nothing for days.

He doesn't seem to be in any pain (was thinking reflux but a close friend has had two reflux babies and am pretty sure not that, also has been relatively recent) and has only done that one massive projectile vom.

Is this normal? Feel stupid asking this, sounds just like normal baby stuff but am just wondering if he could have some issue with his nose or tummy??

Quite normal, don't worry about it. All three of mine did that.

Good.. I mean not good but glad it doesn't sound alarming. Amazing I am still freaking out second time round..

I have a slow let down and DD feeds slowly, we burp her and keep her upright after a feed and she still does this sometimes, it is a bit scary and a bit upsetting for them at the time but it is normal

My DS also went through a phase of doing this. I have a fast let down and found it happened after he went through a growth spurt (feeding all the time) so I then had loads of milk which combined with the fast let down led to wind and sickness until my body adapted to his needs and settled down. I found block feeding helped e.g. Start the feed on the side you finished with last time (I sometimes had to stick a muslin in my bra on the other side) before switching.
It was quite common for my DS to have milk come out of his nose during a feed as he would try and keep up with my fast let down rather than unlatch to catch his breath!
