Can anyone tell me about breast feeding from 6-12 months

I'd intended to bf dd until 6 mths and then move to formula. Now that crunch time has arrived I'm wondering how much of a hassle it would be to continue bfing - will dd begin to drink less or at longer intervals now that I'm weaning her?

ds2 is 6 months nearly, and bf. I'd like to carry on, but would also like to stop him being so clingy so I could do an evening run or have a bath without dh having to hold him to see me.And he still bf's to sleep, which is a terrible habit to get in to.

do you feed on demand at 6-12 months?

Still pretty much on demand though towards the end of that period around 10-12 months I thinnk some women start putting limits on when they will breastfeed and where - this of course depends on the baby, how well they take solids etc, but many women go back to work then (maternity leave etc) so some sort of rules get imposed by that.

Lots of women though prefer to just feed on demand as required for longer - upto 2/3 years of age and beyond
