How much did or dose your 2 week old baby drink?

Hi everyone

My baby is just over two weeks old, born NYE. We had some feeding issues at first but things have settled a bit now, however he seems to drink a massive amount to me. He is now formula fed and takes on average 500 to 600ml in 24 hrs. He crys till you feed him.
He also has trouble with wind so has vomited a few times but health visitors know about this. Baby is my second child.
Thanks

How much does he weigh?

Does he have a dummy? Babies need to comfort suck, and if not breastfed they might need a dummy to comfort suck on.

He is 7lb 2oz, tried giving him a dummy but he just spits it out, is there a special way to get hi. To try it? Thanks

I think you just have to keep trying, and maybe try another style - my DS hated the silicon orthodontic ones but liked the cherry latex type.

As a rough guide, you can multiply your baby's weight in lbs by 2.5 to get the number of oz of formula they need in 24 hours - a 7lb baby would have about 17.5 oz, which is 500ml, so your baby sounds like he is on the right track.

Try putting milk on the dummy and try a small teat as some may be too big for his mouth.
