My baby is 18 weeks old and ebf (which is awesome after a rocky start). I've never had great skin and have tried a few medications when it's been particularly bad but then we were trying for a baby so I had to stop medication.

I get the impression that there are no effective acne medications that I can use whilst bf? My skin is getting really bad again and is really getting me down. I love being amummy, I love bf and despite general challenges of life with a little one I've been feeling pretty good. However as my skin had got worse I'm worried about how depressed I feel about it and don't have many photos of me with me little one because I can't bear to have photos whilst I look like this.

Any advice, ? Anything I can do?

Should have added that I've gone back onto the depo injection which did improve my skin slightly before.

There are really very few meds that are absolutely contra-indicated with breastfeeding - that is, that they are certain to present a risk to the baby. These are mainly the heavy-duty tranx that people with very severe mental illness use. It sounds as if it would be a good idea to speak to your doc and ask him/her to research your options, and also to call the breastfeeding network's drugsline for info.

Hope you get good help soon.
