hi, was i going mad or did i read on here about a cows milk protein intolerance being linked to reflux in a breastfed baby. my baby has been given gaviscon for relux and its worked. i recently read on here about a link between mum eating dairy produce and the protein going thru milk and causing similar symptoms of reflux. i have cut out dairy and my baby hasnt had gaviscon now for a week. told my health visitor and she wants a link to the site i read it now i cant find it!!
thanks

Food Sensitivities in BF babies

Greeat link seona. Very interesting. This is information I've had a gut feeling about after years of experience, childhood eczema, lifelong asthma, tales of horrendous colic when I was a baby.

We HAVE to get our doctors to take food insensitivities much more seriously and to gen up on them. It would unltimately save money for the NHS and save people so much unecessarly health misery.

Ds was very sensitive to dairy when I was bfing - no cow's milk or ice cream for me for a year! It did not bother him when I ate cheese or yogurt, though.

my 2 babies both intolerant to cows milk protein through my breastmilk. I followed dairy and soya free diet as protein is meant to be almost identical. Symptoms disappeared within a week - screaming, 'curdy' poos, blood in ds poos. dd grew out of it by i year, ds only 6 weeks.
