will I need to express/pump if I have a day away from baby?

Hello I would be grateful for any advice. I am having a day away from ds soon (eek first time away from him). He will be 4mths old. He is ebf. I will pump and freeze prior to day so that he will have enough milk.

my questions are;

will I need to pump at some time during the day to avoid boob leakage and discomfort?

also, will my supply be affected by one day without regular feeds?

Yes I would imagine you would be very uncomfortable otherwise. Hopefully our supply won't be affected if you pump.

How many hours will you be away? I imagine you will need to express quite a few times for your comfort if you are away all day. If you take some ice packs and a cool bags, you could store what you express to take home - but if that is too much faff you can just hand express to relieve the pressure.
I wouldn't think one day is going to affect your supply, but if you are away for a long time you do risk getting very engorged, especially at 4m when I would expect he would be feeding quite often.
Obviously it won't be the same for everyone, but I think more than 6 hours could be quite hard going (based on my experience)

You will def need to express for comfort. I would advise expressing at least half of the feeds you normally do to make sure supply is ok

I had to go (domestic flight) to a funeral when DD was EBF - I borrowed a manual pump and relieved the pressure in a couple of toilets at intervals throughout the day - not very glamorous but did the job and was nice and easy.

Thanks all. I will be away for about seven hours so was thinking both boobs maybe three times?
