Dd a week old, feeding was going well but now she doesn't want to go on righ side. She starts fussing and sucking her hands and will open her mouth as if to latch but then kinda slides right past it. Wtf am I doing wrong? I don't want my supply to drop cos she won't feed.

you are doing nothing wrong!
try a different position, maybe the rugby hold (baby lying next to you with their feed towards your back.)
or try feeding lying down.
good luck.

ColdTeaAgain · 13/12/2013 23:33

Can you try a different position? For some reason my DD fed best in the cradle hold one side and rugby hold the other side. Now she's bigger she doesn't care what she does as long as she gets her grub!

Jinglejohnsjulie · 13/12/2013 23:34

I had this with both of mine, have you tried any other positions? Smile

ColdTeaAgain · 13/12/2013 23:34

Great cross post Grin

QuietNinjaTardis · 13/12/2013 23:35

Will try. Think she's going to sleep now but will see what happens at the next feed. Thank you!

How are things today tardis? Is she taking the right side now? Xmas Smile

QuietNinjaTardis · 14/12/2013 13:47

She's taken it today with a little but of fussing. Just not sure what I'm doing in the night! Found it very stressful.

For some reason I found feeding a lot harder in the night in the early days. I asked midwife about it and all she could suggest was that I was probably more tired and perhaps just not getting a comfortable position. I found I just couldn't sit upright enough in bed to get it right so I started feeding lying down in the night which helped a lot.
