Really annoyed with myself here, left ds with my sister sat night, she gave him bm from freezer, I expressed when I got home and fed him first thing in the morn, then sun night he wasn't well, woke every hour but wouldn't feed at all, I've a vommitting bug so sis offered to take him last night again and I said yes, was just physically exhausted, brought the pump to bed assuming I'd wake up in bits, I didn't Hmm just pumping now but my boons are not sore at all, has my body adjusted to no night feeds already? What will happen tonight?? Ds is 4 1/2 months , thanks

I had a sickness bug too which made my supply drop dramatically. But I drank lots of water when I felt better and just fed and fed and it soon righted itself. It was really upsetting though. But don't beat yourself up, you must have needed a break!

Just keep feeding and all will be ok x x

No! You have done no such thing. Your body will adjust back up quickly. My DS went through periods of no feeds at night / lots of feeds at night, feeding all the time as he's ill / feeding less often. You should be well established by now and your body will adjust quickly to all of the changes. Relax! Flowers

Have loads of fluids and maybe a rehydration sachet like Dioralyte, too. Get well soon!

I agree with the unstoppablewindmill. Your body will adjust. Just keep feeding. Get your son back to feeding and your supply will regulate to his demands. Just ensure that he's not losing weight (i.e. getting enough) and all will be just fine. Once your feeding is established, it takes more that a couple missed feeds for your supply to dry up. Even if the supply goes down slightly, it will increase again as soon as he is feeding regularly again.
I used to worry about the same things, as my breasts never really got engorged when I was travelling for work and away from my DS for 2-3 days at a time. I would come back from business trips and pick up the feeding again with no problems. Once she was a bit older and eating solids + BF, I could stop for 3-4 days (no feeding/no pumping) and there is still milk there for her.
