Stopping breastfeeding at 12 months

Can I just stop? Or will I get mastitis? Ds has been having just 1-2 feeds per day (about 5 mins each side) for a while now. Really just as a lazy way to get him to nap.

This week we have started settling him (with fair success) with a beaker of cows milk.

So. I haven't fed him for 3 days now. It seems to be ok, not painful anyway. Is that it do you think?

Ps If that is it, can anyone tell me what the hell to do next time he wakes randomly at 3am crying?? Confused

If he hasn't asked for it then that's great! If your breasts feel engorged then hand express enough to feel comfortable but don't encourage supply by over expressing.

Thanks for the reply :) I'm not feeling the need to express, not yet anyway. Will see how it goes, one day at a time. Not sure I could hand express even if I wanted too mind you!
