Hi, wasn't sure where to post this so sorry if it's the wrong place.

I have a 13 week old baby. Lochia stopped by 2 weeks postpartum. Had a period at 6 weeks pp. Pretty sure it was a period as I had exactly the same with my dd1 who was also exclusively breastfed. Just unlucky I guess. But I'm wondering as it's been 6 weeks since then without another, if it's usual for it to be a while before the next? I can't remember what happened with dd1 as it was over 6 years ago.

Yes I think periods can be very irregular in the beginning. Mine didn't return until after a year or so and have since been very regular, but I've heard that's not often the norm.

I'm no expert, but have you used one of those ovulation sticks to see if it's really a period?

its normal for the first few periods to be irregular

i breastfed and after 6 weeks got my first period again, i skipped the second and after the third it was on a regular basis again
