Deep shooting pain from nipple to armpit!

When feeding! Nipple sore and tender too - is this normal? It's quite bad and my pain threshold is quite high!!

Thrush? What's baby's mouth like? Push to get swabbed by MW/Dr! Xx

Thrush? Or is it more constant - I was treated umpteen times for "thrush" that wouldn't clear up and it turned out to be raynaud's phenomenon.

Get checked out for thrush. If it has gone into your milk ducts it can hurt in the way you describe. Does your baby have a milky looking coating on his/her tongue that doesn't brush off? If so they might have it too. If it is thrush you both need treatment ASAP or you end up passing it back and forth and it can be an absolute nightmare to get rid of. Google thrush whilst breastfeeding and if it sounds like what you're experiencing book a doctor's appointment tomorrow. And don't be afraid to go back to the doctor if it doesn't clear up. I hope you get it sorted soon.

Blocked duct possibly ending in a bleb, sudden onset and seering pain on latch? If so feed express and pick off any blebs which look like spot heads.

Sounds like thrush, is it proper stabby?

Proper shabby pain, like excruciating, in tears pain! Give me labour any day!

It's only on 1 side, not sure if nipples go pale, will check tomorrow when it's light.

Thought I had a blocked duct a few days ago as had what looked like a bleb coupled with a hard painful lump in breast.. Both gone as I massaged and picked!

The whole boob feels burny and painful even when not feeding...

If thrush, would it be on both sides? Can't see any white on ds tongue - would it be really obvious?

Sounds like when I had blocked duct which I thought I'd cleared. I thought thrust but GP said mastitis and gave me flucloxacillin. Settled in less than 2 days. Take paracetamol & ibuprofen and get urgent appointment with GP before it gets worse.

Update! Woke up this morning after a very bad painful night as didn't feed from bad boob so was engorged and very painful - the whole boob felt like it was on fire! Had to brave it and express which really helped.
Saw dr this morning who has given me thrush treatment although there's none in ds mouth. Will take tablets and fingers crossed!
