Stopping BF - how long for milk to stop?

Haven't fed since Wednesday morning, and I haven't expressed at all to relieve engorgement. Wondering how long it will take before my milk stops completely and my boobs feel normal again? They are not especially painful, just tender.
I fed for five months if that makes a difference.
(The only threads I've tried to find on this topic are full of people urging the OP not to stop BFing...)

I'm afraid the answer is that it's different for everyone. Some people are comfortable after 2-3 days. For some it's more like 2-3 weeks. I've known people who leak for months in the shower.

Eat fresh sage and eat 1/4 teaspoon of dried sage 4 times a day. You can read more about drying effects of sage on kellymom.com.
