I had my ds on Friday and it looks like my milk has started to come through today.

I'm concerned that every time ds feeds from my right boob he vomits, its just started this evening, he doesn't vom from my left and seems to be very unsettled still, even though he is getting decent feeds from both sides.

My dd didn't take to bf and I ended up ff after her loosing weight rapidly, I don't think ds is going yo have the same issues as he feels heavier. I'd be very surprised if he has lost loads like dd.

Does this sound like anything to be concerned about? I'll probably mention it to the mW as she is due to come tomorrow to weigh baby and check my wound (had him via elcs) etc.

Hiya - when you say he vomits, do you mean a posset or throwing up his whole milk feed? Is it every time?

Overall I'd probably not worry too much at this stage. Talk to your mw and see if you can get advice from one of the local bf support groups.

It may be that you have a faster milk flow on one side and it's making him gag. There are techniques to modulate this that the support group can help with. It might also just be that it's all new to him too and he will work it put himself. Don't worry too much - just keep feeding and don't be tempted to just offer the 'good' side as this can lead to problems.

You're doing brilliantly and it's all a learning curve - just make sure you use the RL support available. Best of luck!

Also if your milk has only just come in then it's probably got a let down like a fire hose! It will ease up as time goes by! Wink

Thanks novia, it is every time I feed from the right, he's doing a gag and then vomiting, its not the full feed just posseting.

I was thinking NY let down might be stronger on that side and that could be causing it.

As I had the c section, I'm pretty stuck for getting out atm but I will be trying to get to a bf support thing in the next village in a couple of weeks, plus, I don't want to be doing much, being awake so much is killing me!!

Thanks again.
