Should I go for teat 1 or variflow? She's 5 months!

Hi

Are you currently bf? If so I'd start with 1 as that comes with Tommie tippee bottles anyway but babies can get quite frustrated as it's a slow flow. Varia flow can be hard work for babies I always found teat 3, fast flow the best one and both of mine still use this
teat.

DD had one bottle per day and after initial problems it was the TT slow flow that cracked it. She is 8 months now and has been using the vari flow for a while as any time we tried a fast flow teat she seemed to gurgle and choke Confused

I'd try variflow or fast flow at that age. Too slow a teat can give them bad wind and cause poor feeding. Baby may seem to gulp at first until they learn the right sucking technique for a bottle.

I am breastfeeding at the mo but an trying to introduce bottles now too.

DD wasn't much younger (4+ months) & got very upset with the faster flow tears initially. I think as she was used to BF that she seemed to suck too hard? Though I have absolutely no idea if that's the case, in case any experts want to disagree Smile We kept her on just 1 bottle per day till she was 8 months old and for the first few bottles (not many - a week or so) used the slow flow. Then switched to vari flow when she started getting frustrated and looking like she was having to work too hard to get any milk out. Good luck!
