DD is 2 and has just weaned (hasn't fed for nearly 4 days now and I'm not planning on feeding again). Was my decision but she hasn't put up much of a fight (unlike when I last tried 6 months ago and she was really not happy about it). We won't have anymore children so that is the end of over 5 years of pregnancy and breast feeding (with 2 dc, had a couple of months off in between at one point). Feels quite weird. Very mixed emotions.

Aww, how lovely that you've fed for that long though. I managed seven months before I got fed up and dd didn't seem bothered anymore.

Wait till she starts school. My youngest has just started. Now that's a shock to the system. Sad

I could have written your exact post. Just done with 5 years of bf. 2 with dc1 and 3 years with dc2 just finished a week ago. She tried to ask for it tonight but I stopped her and after crying for a while she gave up. Hmm

It's mixed feelings. I know there's nothing left. It's just comfort!! But still on the other hand that's me done with bf forever!!

I feel a bit like that about never being pregnant anymore. It's wierd, going from 'will we have any more?' to 'that's it then'. Sad

Hi, thanks for your messages both.
I had horrible pregnancies so adjusted with relief to the idea of no more.

My ds did start school in September, I think this has added to the whole idea of the kids growing up and not being babies anymore. Keep finding myself randomly bursting into tears, even though I am quite pleased they are getting less dependent.

dD did decide to put up a last minute fight last night and kept waking up crying which didn't help. Even then I wasn't tempted to feed her so I think this time I am resolute.
