Ive just been given aptamil pepti for my 8 week old as he has been really uncomfortable in the tummy/bowel area and generally unsettled. I suspect cmpi and asked my gp for a trial of a hypoallergenic formula. He also has been diagnosed with reflux and has Gaviscon, ranitidine and domperidone for that for a couple of weeks.

Been on the aptamil pepti since Friday evening and he seemed alot calmer, but he is now pooing what seems like every 5 minutes, really smelly and much looser than normal poos. I'm assuming i need to give baby a chance to get used to the new milk and that changing him may have upset his tummy a bit, but just wondered what other peoples experiences are?

It took a little while for my dds poos to get back to a normal looking state however the improvement was instant with everything else. It is of course possible he has picked up a bug and it's coincidental but do keep an eye on it and that he's remaining hydrated enough.

My SS now 5 months developed seriously bad eczema when I started weaning him off the breast (he was combine fed from birth). Long story short, GP started him on pepti one around 4 weeks ago and there's been a noticeable improvement but not drastic. However-LO did develop very runny poos and a khaki colour and smellier than when he was on regular Aptamil.

I'm still not convince it's the right mik for him and since I'm going to run out of the Pepti 1 today I've kept a tin of Nannycare as a backup... I might consider switching if it helps (I'm going to run out as GP will only give a weekly prescrip as opposed to a pead who will give a longer script-but we're still waiting for an appt..,
Hope your LO gets better x
