2 week old suffering with colic and constant comfort feeding

Dd is 2 weeks old and exclusively breast fed. She is a bit of a fussy feeder during the day...,tends to snack and fall asleep rather than take big feeds but is gaining weight well.

Over the last few nights she has started with colic. High pitched screams, generally unsettled, won't sleep and wants to feed constantly. I don't know what to do for the best....feeding only seems to offer temporary comfort but seems to make the wind worse.

We spend hours winding, shushing and walking around but doesn't help.

Should I try infacol or colief? Tried with ds but don't remember it having any effect. Should I just feed or try a dummy?

Have you tried baby massage (many many councils run free classes) I cant promise itll be a miracle cure but ime its amazing at helping the symptoms

Is it all night or just in the evenings? Could she be wanting to cluster feed?

The things that worked for us were gripe water, tummy massage and Colief. I swear by Colief. Oh and warm baths.

It is horrendous - I hope you get over this stage soon!

Thanks for your replies....I have tried massage (did the classes with DS) and as it is only in the early evenings i definately think it is colic rather than cluster feeding.

Think I will try colief as it was the only thing we didn't try with DS (he also had reflux so it was even worse last time) just heartbreaking when you can see they are in pain and you can't do anything about it.

Sounds like a similar experience to me. We are now on meds for reflux and I still use the Colief but things have improved SO much. I hope you get sorted sooon.
