The most pathetic period ever...

DS is 7m and BF. Started solids at 6m. A month ago I got what I thought was my first postpartum period but it was very light: hardly even a single tampon's worth over two days.

Yesterday evening (bang on 28 days later to the hour) I noticed some spotting so got all prepared and nothing. Totally vanished. Bad cramping but hardly any bleeding.

Was this other people's experiences? I BF DC#1 for 12m but my periods didn't start until I totally stopped nursing her (and they were immediately back to normal) so this is new territory for me!!

I had my first postpartum period at 7 months. It was fairly light. Then the next one was very heavy, not nice at all, lasted quite a while, and then the next two have been fairly normal. Not particularly regular yet though.

Thanks. I kind of expected it for the first, but the second's been like that also. Maybe it'll sort itself out for #3!

I had my first at exactly 4 weeks pp. Was just like yours- very light and short and only lasted 2 days. Dr confirmed it was a period.

Was gutted.

That was nearly 7 weeks ago. I am now desperate for the next one to start - I'm still breastfeeding but have had PMT on and off for 2 weeks now. Every time I think it's finally here, the cramps tail off again. Given that sore nipples and nursing aversion is now kicking in I'm hoping this is it.

Can't help at all but I sympathise. I just wish my hormones would get their act together one way or another.

why are you complaining?!!!! Shock

You're lucky you could use a tampon - my vagina changed shape, so I can't use a tampon anymore.
have to walk around wearing a mattress.
but no aches and pains, just a little bit of grumbling at the beginning (in fact, this month was the first time I had to take ibuprofen and only one dose!)
but, yes, my periods have been lighter since having DD.
