Stopped breastfeeding - when can I expect to stop looking like I've stuffed my bra?

So I gave my last feed to 6 month old DS 8 days ago. I stopped gradually over a period of about 6 weeks and for the last week of BF he was having one feed a day. Ever since stopping my boobs have been firm and sore to touch - not engorged and not lumpy but achy and quite 'full' feeling. I haven't expressed at all as I didn't feel the need to. But this morning I woke up in a milky puddle - bleurgh- so I expressed enough to relieve the fullness. Nearly 4 bloody oz! And i could have kept going and filled the sodding bottle! How long does it take for the milk to dry up? With DS1 i don't remember experiencing this, although maybe I just blocked it out.

Stop expressing! If will never dry up if you express.

Within a month things you should stop producing

Well I've only expressed once in 8 days so I don't think that is going to make an enormous difference. A month, bloody hell!

I was just going to ask about this. I have just started to give my 5 month old one bottle a day and I am so uncomfortable. I have read that sage can help to dry up the milk.

It took about ten days with both my DCs.
