Trying to get EBM fed baby to take formula

As I had mentioned in an earlier post, I have been expressing for six months now and I would like to give it up. I am finding it tiring and my supply is going down, so I am going to move onto formula with my little boy. He loves his EBM and has always been fed on demand, I would just give him a bottle whenever, and as EBM keeps so well, we never had to worry about time limits etc...so here is my question.

First off, he doesn't really want to have formula on its own, so I have been mixing it with EBM, to 2 oz formula and 4 oz EBM, and spacing out his means to 2/3 hours so he will be hungrier and drink the whole bottle within an hour or so. What I plan to do it change the ratio to half EBM/half formula in a week, then do that for a week, and so on and so forth until he will take the formula, I plan to express until he takes the formula neat.

Does this sound like a good idea? I just would like some feedback or maybe if someone else has some other suggestions for me to get the kid to drink the formula.

That sounds like a good plan. Has he started solids? Once established on them he will not need a bottle of milk at each feed which would take the expressing pressure of you. You will need to scale down your expressings to avoid engorgement since you have been expressing so long. Have you planned how you will reduce?

I now pump 3 times a day, 9 am, 6 pm and 11 pm, so my plan is to cut out the 11 pm pump, then cut out the 6 and then the 9.

I hope it works!
