Posterior tongue tie snipped yesterday

And ds seems to keep slipping back to the old way he was latching. Do I just keep persevering, breaking his latch and putting him back on again properly, and trust in time he'll get used to the new way? Or is it more complicated than that?

Any advice/experience very much welcomed. Thanks in advance

Things are already much improved wrt settling between feeds, getting more milk at each feed, colic/wind issues in the evening and he settled to sleep for the night much earlier last night (9.30pm instead of 11.30pm). So I'm happy that it has made a positive difference, would just love this latch to come a bit more easily. Presume it's because he's spent 7 weeks doing it a certain way?

With my DS it took a few days for his latch to improve. It was as if he had to learn all over again. If you can I'd get to a breastfeeding cafe or similar early next week to get someone who knows what they're talking about to check his latch.

i had to work a bit on latch after ds2 had his snipped. I think i'd got so used to holding him in place and stuff that I was actually forcing a not great latch by still doing so!

Thank you, it's really reassuring to hear others have had this experience. It also makes sense that I might need to unlearn how I've been holding him whilst feeding in the same way he needs to unlearn his previous way of feeding. I will keep trying and also visit breastfeeding support group on Thursday.

I know I've been really lucky getting posterior tongue tie diagnosed and sorted out quickly. I knew from my experience with feeding dd that something wasn't right this time. Can't believe the difference it's made already. Thanks to people on this topic helping me to confirm my suspicions and urging me to seek a referral.
