Boobs On Tour - any holiday stories?

We're off to France in July. Taking both kids and the boobies are coming too. It just occurred to me that I have absolutely no idea what the attitude to breastfeeding in public is out there. Will it be welcomed? Ignored? Hissed at? Is it perfectly OK but never in restaurants? (Mind you, they park their dogs under the table, not sure how they can object to boobs)

Anybody got any holiday/travel experiences to share? France would be v useful, but just generally interested, really...

where are you going? I would imagine a holiday destination in France may be ok

Paris in December was difficult! It was too cold to sit outside and the cafes are smokey. But that said, I did see a women BF in a cafe in Paris, although it was not common place (which could be more to do with being in a city than France itself?

I agree cod, your boobs are going whether they like it or not! I think as with anywhere you get good and bad experiences, take England for example!

Not France- but those beach side bench shelters so common in the UK are fab places to feed- sea veiw, shade and a seat with a back, beats the hell out of sitting on the sand trying to keep ds shaded with a muslin. AND- MiL stayed on the beach so I got some peace and quiet too.

Thanks ladies. I just wondered if there were any cultural funnies that I might not have thought of. For instance, it's a Catholic country. I feed DD2 in church over here - but then again, I don't have to cover my head in church here... we're going to a little village in the back end of nowhere, so not really a holiday destination. Except for us, obviously!

Also we'll be taking our Special Needs toddler with us so people will be staring at us already, which makes you a lot more twitchy about it iyswim.

I've fed in Sardinia, no one seemed bothered at all.
