My boob my boob ow ow ow

Aaawww dear gawd my boob. a quarter or more of my boob is blocked, and pammy style backlog behind it. Ds feeding from it is pain. Pure pain. Like he's got a bad latch even when he hasn't. It's warm but not burny hot. And no mastitis redness. I've tried feeding ds from a different angle - agony. And massaging it - also really hurts. Help

Boob pain is awful, you have my sympathy.
Is there a white spot on your nipple at all? I had a similar thing a few weeks ago & the blockage was caused by a milk blister on my nipple. If you haven't already have a check.

No milk blister.
I've managed to express 3oz off, so I can at least move, but it is throbbing. And hurts when I touch my boob.

Does it feel less blocked now you've expressed?

Ouch! Hot water in a clean nappy and massage while pumping. And the more you nurse, the easier it will become.

Ibrophrofen (sp?) helps me.

Really really hot bath or shower? Massage the area while you're in there. Stroke toasted the nipple. I had this a few weeks ago (not as bad as you) i really feel for you. hope you manage to sort it out soon.

Could it be a blocked duct? My GP suggested one of those wheat filled things you warm up in the microwave, which I was sceptical about but that combined with feeding/expressing from that boob cleared it up entirely within 12 hours.

I'm just getting over mastitis and g suggested wide toothed comb, scraped through a bar of soap and then comb towards the nipple.

Hot shower & wide tooth comb worked a treat for me plus lots of feeding on that side. If it hurts too much to feed or pump you could try hand expressing in the shower.

Still blocked but less pressure. Will try a comb and shower.
