Feeling Awful - suspected food poisoning

Have been up All night with the most awful tummy ache. Projectile vomitted 4 times tho thankfully mAnaging to keep water down despite feeling like I'm going to hurl.

Can I still feed my 3 week old.....and more importantly, where am I going to find the energy to??

I have continued to feed, lying down where I can. I have been taking sips of water every hour to try to stay hydrated but not too much to irritate the belly beast!

Am feeling a lot better this morning although quite weak. Looking forward to some toast soon!

Yes you can still feed your baby, just try to stay hydrated. There is some more information on nursing when you are sick on Kellymom.

Do you have soneone who could look after baby between feeds? If not, can you get everything you need, water, nappies etc and put baby in bed with you?

Lucozade sport (the flat stuff) is good for hydrating and giving an energy boost when you are poorly. I breastfed through a sickness bug when it was the only thing I could have for a couple of days. Stay in bed, have the baby brought to you for feeds and then taken away again.

Poor you, it's horrible.

Am feeling Much better. No sickness from about 4.30am and just a sore tummy now.

Have napped and fed dd all morning and then ds, 20months, joined us for his nap. Didn't sleep as was sandwiched in by the pair of them.....lovely cuddles!

Have had lucozAde, going to try some dry toast shortly. Gonna get up n see how I feel! :)

Tried some toast......been sick. The awful stomachache is back :(

There's a stomach bug going around at the mo. I second keeping as hydrated as possible and wash your hands like a maniac. Isolate a bathroom towel etc and minimise contamination.

DS caught the norivirus from DH as 10 weeks and it was horrible. Hope you feel better soon
