17 day old DD screaming when not on boob HELP

DD is usually pretty good. Cluster feeds in the evening but not too bad. Usually feed her to sleep bout 10.30pm

Today she has been feeding all day. She's slept for maybe 2 hours total, split between 3 sleeps. For the last few hours she is coming off the boob and just screaming!! So I've been putting her back on and she's quite. She seems like she's just comfort sucking and looks like she's sleepy but if she comes off - scream!!

The only difference about today was I had a cup of coffee at 10am. Surely that wouldn't be in my milk now?

No advice alas but just to say my 3 week old has done the same today. No idea why. Kind of hoping it will mean he'll sleep loads tonight.

sunflower I'm wondering if she's getting a bit overtired now. Going to try the usual feed to sleep later and hope she nods off.

My son is 12 days old and I am having the same problem, hoping somebody has some advice.

A peer supporter and the feeding midwife I spoke to today both said growth spurt, I couldn't put him down at all last night. It's exhausting isn't it?

There's a big growth spurt at 3 weeks. Bloody hard work but stick at it. I'm sure your doing fantastic ((())) clog up your sky box fill up a thermos of tea n make yourself comfy. It does pass

Agreed that there is a big growth spurt around three to four weeks. It's peaks and flows for the first couple of months, but it does get easier. I found if you succumb to it, by getting nice food in and some movies, the mega cluster feeds aren't so bad.

I was also going to say growth spurt. You just need to set up camp on the sofa with some nice food, drinks, tv remote and enjoy the cuddles. It should only last a few days.
