Hungry 4mo - some kind of evening routine?

I'm on my own all week with my two children and really need a couple of hours off in the evening but am finding the bedtime routine difficult as I also have a 3yo dd. She's in a lovely easy pattern of having dinner, tv, bath, books, bed. It means 5-7pm is always the same. But I just can't seem to feed the baby enough during that time to get him sleepy or full up enough to settle down. I'm constantly up and down stairs feeding and burping him from 7-9. So I don't bother dream feeding when I go to sleep just an hour later... Which means I've done almost nothing with my evening except eat/feed, and then need to feed several times in night too! Any advice for getting off the constant treadmill? I'm not into Ford-style routine but a general pattern for a bit of evening time to myself would be a godsend.. Or is this too much to ask when ebf on demand?

Is it because he's not doing much feeding during the day? He's got into the habit of getting it all in during those hours...I don't think it's too much to ask but if you want to gain some control, then you won't be BF on demand anymore. I suppose it's up to you...are you ready to make a change now?

Well he feeds all day long too but you're right, I can't have it both ways! Can't call it one thing and do another. Think I am ready for a bit of control as I am just so knackered. Any other mums of toddler plus ebf baby have routines they care to share...?
