Three month old breastfeeding for an hour at a time

Hello!

Does anyone have experience of a three month old feeding for an hour at a time? My daughter's a healthy, happy baby, putting on the right amount of weight etc but she feeds every 2-3 hours in the day for an hour at a time! She used to be a 30 min feeder but for the last couple of weeks, the feeds are getting longer.

I'm not complaining, I'm happy to feed her for as long and for as often as she likes, I'm just curious cos all the healthcare professionals said the feeds would get shorter not longer!

Could baby be teething and therefore needing extra comfort??

DD fed for an hour at a time at least every 3 hours until after 4 months. Everyone told me it was weird, but that was just the way DD was. Now at 9 months shes down to the 5/10 mins that I was expecting much earlier.

Around 12 weeks and 16 weeks are times of huge growth spurts. Let baby have as much milk as she wants, it will soon pass - even though sometimes it doesn't feel like it ever will!

Hmmm I think at 3mo around half our feeds were this long, sorry! They just gradually get shorter with age. Nearer 4mo she started getting distracted by the outside world more so feeds became shorter!
