Does anyone else tend to get mastitis as soon as they are a bit run down.? And if so...

... Would you take antibiotics for a high fever before any breast pain confirmed mastitis.

I've had mastitis so many times the GP prescribed Flucloxacillin to carry with me and take with first symptoms. I'm on holiday and woke with a tummy upset, now I have a fever of 39 but no breast pain. Fever feels sort of mastitis-esque, I wouldn't normally get a fever with an upset tum.

So would you take the ABs or wait?

I did with dd- fed her for 13 months. Have a three week old ds and felt I was going down Woth it last night. I fed more on the sore side and took ibuprofen and touch wood feel ok.

However- how does your dc react to the ABs! Can you leave it a little more and see how you feel. It could be a holiday belly!?
