period affecting taste of breast milk?

Can't find any thing about this below.
So here goes. Last night the middle of the night feed went pear shaped with 3 month old DS screaming at the boob and hardly drinking anything. He then took ages to settle and was sick along the way.This morning my period started, hes been off his feed and fretty all day and bedtime tonight saw him screaming and being sick again. Just wondering if the two might be connected.
I havn't eaten anything in the last few days I havn't had in the last 3 months. He did get some sand into his mouth on the beach yesterday afternoon before i spotted what he was up to.

My dd 9 months is the same becomes fussy around this time. Not sure if it is the taste/change in hormones.

I think it is connected as usually she is a very good feeder.

My ds was consistently not pleased at the time of my period for 2 years.
