feck's sake!

yes it's JUST the same as forcing the baby to eat Cadbury's Buttons all day

stupid woman

edam · 09/06/2006 10:18

Barking. I think there's a special school for HVs where they divide them up into two classes - one class are taught to be helpful and the other class are mad as snakes.

Only to judge by the posts on here, the mad as snakes class is bigger...

PrettyCandles · 09/06/2006 10:19

Nonsense.

If an older child with teeth is allowed to feed constantly at night, then they are at risk of tooth decay because the latch is unlikely to be correct. But if the baby is latched on properly then the milk goes nowhere near the teeth - it goes straight to the back of the mouth.

hotmama · 09/06/2006 10:19

What a chuffing nutter!

dinosaure · 09/06/2006 10:21

Rubbish. I breastfed all mine on demand, and carried on breastfeeding DS2 and DS3 until they were about 15 months, and they've all got perpfect teeth (DS1 is nearly seven and DS2 is nearly five now).

NotQuiteCockney · 09/06/2006 10:22

But bottlefeeding constantly isn't?

I despair. I really do.

nailpolish · 09/06/2006 10:23

she is a complete nutjob and should be reported

NotQuiteCockney · 09/06/2006 10:24

Maybe she meant, you're doing something that your child will really appreciate and enjoy?

No, that's not really convincing, is it. Can't blame me for trying.

NotQuiteCockney · 09/06/2006 10:31

Thank you! Thank you!

(I'm having a really shit week (ha ha ha) and need to try to be cheerful.)

dinosaure · 09/06/2006 10:34

What's up, nqc? Want to talk about it?

NotQuiteCockney · 09/06/2006 10:35

Oh, I've started about a billion threads on it. Gastric flu. It's clearing up. But I've been essentially immobile for a few days, and busy pulling in every resource I can to keep DS1 getting to and from school etc.

NotQuiteCockney · 09/06/2006 10:35

(Gastric flu, hence the mirthless ha ha ha after the word shit.)

dinosaure · 09/06/2006 10:37

Oh dear. Sorry to hear that. Wish you better very soon.

HarpsichordCarrier · 09/06/2006 10:37

hunkermunker · 09/06/2006 10:38

I was just pegging the washing out and wondered whether that was what she meant, and perhaps my initial comment on this thread was a bit harsh.

But no, she's a dopey buffoon peddling dangerous ideas and no mistake!

FlameBoo · 09/06/2006 10:41

I like the theory of the two classes Grin

all4girlz · 09/06/2006 10:42
