Anyone used a lactation consultant in the East Midlands?

So the BFing support I've had on the NHS has been rubbish because this is DC4 and therefore I'm an expert Hmm I'm pretty confident that DD3 has a posterior tongue tie so I'm considering seeing a private lactation consultant. We really don't have the money to pay for it but DD3 is worth it. I can't even convince myself that it's cheaper than FF because we get Healthy Start vouchers

Anyway, can anyone recommend a lactation consultant in the East Midlands who can snip TTs?

Room, I think you are asking for something that does not exist - not in the west mids, anyway. Lactation consultants exist (you can see some of them listed at www.lcgb.org ) but only a few work privately and that's mostly round London and the SE.

milkmatters.org.uk is another source of info about tongue tie.

There are tongue tie snippers in lots of places, by the way..they are not all lactation consultants.

The NHS redeemed themselves this afternoon and a lovely lactation consultant snipped it for us. I don't think she was too impressed with my experience of BFing support in her trust so far but she was great and had a kind midwife helping her.
