Feeling like a chew toy for my 9mo

I know it's only a rough patch (I hope!) but DS (almost 9mo) is sleeping horribly -- down for the night around 7pm but up at least once or twice and then usually up by 5am for the day and doesn't sleep more than 1hr during day (often takes no naps at all).

The early starts have been happening regularly since early May. Last night he was was up from 9:45pm to 1:15am. He's teething and it's hot, so I know that all plays a part, but he wanted to spend pretty much all that time on the boob and though I know it's comforting for him, I'm exhausted and really starting to hate feeling like a chew toy.

I EBF DD until she was 16mo and plan to continue with DS as long as he's interested, but the chewing, occasional biting and the fact that he's a sloppy eater and my tops always end up with blotches of milk all over them leave me feeling really frustrated and disheartened.

Any advice or just a bit or moral support would be hugely appreciated right now.

If its any consolation my 6mo has woken every 2 hrs at night ever night since birth with no sign of sleeping through any time soon! And he only naps in the day for 30 mins at a time max - you could set your watch by him!

But it sounds like you're just having a bit of a rough patch. When my DS clamps down on my boob I know he's finished feeding/bored so I just take him off & let him bite my finger instead. Or his Sophie the giraffe - best teething toy ever. He's a pretty messy eater too, I sometimes fold my bra over with the pad exposed so it mops up any residue & have a muslin cloth wedged in there too. Hang in there!

Thanks. Had another rough night with him just wanting to be on the boob for ages and then the poor thing vomited all over me. I felt awful for feeling so frustrated & grumpy when he's not well & having such a hard time teething. Sleep deprivation makes me such a Jekyll & Hyde. will I ever feel like my old self again?

sorry your LO isn't a great sleeper either. thanks for the feeding tips too. I do cover myself with a muslin sometimes, which helps minimize mess but if I forget or don't have one handy, I end up a mess.
