My dd seems to need feeding far more than the guidelines on the tin. My midwife said that most babies need less than the guidelines say as the formula manufatuerer are just trying to get you to use more formula than necessary. How much and often do other borrle fed babies have at 6 wks (weight just over 9 pounds)

my ds fed more than on the tin even just after birth. Dont worry is dd putting on weight, seeming content etc .

give her whatever she seems to want. At 6 weeks ds2 would take anything between 2 and 6 oz at each feed every 2 - 5 hours. he was 8lb 4oz. But ds1 was drinking at least 7 oz for every feed - he was 8lb 7oz.

at about 6 weeks old babies hit a growth spurt and start being funny with their milk anyway.. When she has been draining the bottles you make up for a few days, up the amount you put in the bottle by an ounce.

All babies are very different.

Let her determine what she needs.

DD1 would have spurts where she wanted more than what was on the tin, and others when she wanted less.
