Good dresses for breastfeeding: success

I followed a link to milkchic I found on here. Brilliant idea for a site.
Anyway, it inspired me to look for 50s style dresses on amazon.
Brilliant: I now have cotton, flattering dresses for much less than boob brand prices.
Loads of choice and brands, I've bought Hearts and Roses- one halter neck and one collar style neckline. Both v easy to feed fairly modestly with.
Come with a naff bit of black lace at bottom of underskirt but nothing pinking shears can't get rid of.
Hair in a ponytail, big shades, Bali Birkenstocks (so I can run after 3 year old)
And now I look nice, like a Kirstie Allsopp wannabe admittedly, but better than fat frump.

I just googled amazon uk hearts and roses" Searching within amazon not as successful.
But only some suitable for bfing, halter neck, button ups and the wide strap deep v necks work.

Love the look of these but I'm thick waisted with small(ish) hips, so they just end up making me look bigger all over. How does the halter work then? Doesn't it end up flopping down on both sides, or do you just loosen the tie a little?

Well it is quite a robust halter neck and it is being balanced on currently quite big breasts so it sort of balances. Plus because bodice is a bit fitted it wouldn't flop down very far even if it did fall down.
Today I'm wearing a navy with white polka dots one with wide straps which just pull down for access. I admit they probably aren't perfect or for everyone but I do feel excited being out of pregnancy yoga pants!! And glad that they are cotton!!

Ooh, CaramelGirl, you may have made my day - feeling frumpy as, have a occasion coming up, and love 50 style stuff. How do you find the sizing on the one you linked to?

Sizing wise: I usually took a 12 in a dress pre pregnancy. Now more like a 14. So I sized up to 16 as recommended.
Possibly a bit loose around the back on the halter neck Hearts and Roses.
The Kushi, size 16, has had irritatingly falling down straps. I think I will ask my Ma to sew a button on the centre to lessen this.

They are not as high quality as, for example, Vivien of Holloway but are nice approximations and have drawn a hell of alot more compliments than my yoga pants did!

Oh and www.milkchic.co.uk suggests other high street clothes which may work for breastfeeding.
Tho' they include ghost as high street...

Thank you! I ordered this morning, and have gone up a couple of sizes from pre preg, so fingers crossed.

I really miss wearing my VoH dress - it would be my go to for summer evenings if I could possibly a) breastfed and b)fit breastfeeding boobs in it, so nice to have something similar!

I have some bf dresses from a site called izzy's mum which are actually nice and not too pricey.
