My nipples are in agony!

7 month old ds won't stop biting me. Last night was horrible. He was screaming really loudly so each time I tried to settle him he would dig his teeth into my nipples and scrape his teeth along them. Worst thing is he feeds to sleep and because he wouldn't let me feed him until around 10pm he didn't get to sleep until 11. I'm almost certain it's teething but what can I do to stop him using my nipples as a teether?! I've tried everything I can think of as this has been going on for a while now. It's only usually a couple of times during a feed so last night was probably a one-off.

I have similar issues for a few days when each new tooth comes through.

I go back to basics nose to nipple and exaggerated latch to try to get her to take a much breast as possible and then unable to bite! This tends to help a bit till the phase is over!

have you tried a spot of calpol 20 mins before the bedtime feed and a slick of bonjelor/dentinox just before?

Thanks guys. My nipples feel really sore everytime he feeds and I'm terrified before I feed him. He has been much better today though. He bit me earlier so I tried the calgel and waited 20 minutes which worked really well .
