Comfortable breastfeeding positions for 20lb baby!

Hi!

My 5 month old baby girl is 20lb and EBF - lately she has only been letting me feed her in a lying down position on the bed. I think this is because I am finding it difficult to find any other position comfortable for us both now that she is so heavy.

She doesn't feed properly in the cradle position anymore which makes things very stressful when I"m out and about. I have had to dash home with her a few times to feed her lying down!!

I guess I could start expressing and bottle feed when I,m out, but I just wondered if any other ladies with big babies have any tips?

Have you tried the rugby hold?

Will she feed in cradle with a cushion to support her? I took one in bottom of pushchair for a few months so make us comfortable when feeding.

Sit her in your knee/thigh, facing in? Or legs to one side on your lap whilst sitting up?

Thanks for ideas! I have tried rugby hold and didn't have much success. I will try taking a cushion out with me and see if that makes a difference. I will give the sitting up positions a go as well :)

I think I've been doing the second of the options InvaderZim describes, though I've found that if I'm also able to recline slightly, it works even better, I think because DS2's more supported.
