Though the warnings in that fact sheet about the oral remedy passing into milk are for the once a day treatment that's prescribed for persistent thrush in the breasts rather than the single dose for the, er, fanjo variety, because repeated doses can build up in baby - specifically in young babies. The amount that passes into milk in a single dose is very small. I've taken the oral remedy for vaginal thrush while breastfeeding with the blessing of medical professionals, if that's any help (and may need to do so again as Canesten gives me a rash and am on antibiotics for my chest again, sigh).

Canesten while breastfeeding is perfectly safe.

Thanks guys just the help I needed- I am going to go buy the 24 hour tablet pack now- no not in the breasts at the moment, but I feel awful and am babysitting for 5 hours very shortly so I need to feel vaguely human again. My baby is 14 months so I am down to only 4 times a day feeding anyway. I think it will be fine.

Feel better soon!

Thanks Leedy. I actually bought a test for uti at the shop and it came up positive for leukocytes so doc gave me antibiotics for suspected uti, but I usually feel better after a few doses and still feel bad so maybe it is a virus....I do feel fluey.
