I think this is amazing, has anyone else's 2/3 year old done this?

I breastfed DD until she was about 18 months old (in fact I'll have to check, I've forgotten exactly when we stopped). She's now nearly 3. A couple of weeks ago I was getting her dry after a bath and she pointed to my breast and said "Mummy, my want that". I asked her what she meant and she repeated "my want that". I asked why and she said "cos it's yummy".

It's been more than a year and no mention from me or her since. That's amazing right? It seems like the most basic memories making a conscious appearance before they (sadly) disappear. I will treasure that conversation forever.

Has this happened to anyone else?

My DD (2.5) hasn't BF in over a year and still asks for num nums and pulls down my top. I think it might be because her cousin BF for longer and she saw it. It's very cute.

I think the thing that was amazing for me as that when she was breastfeeding she never said anything about it at all. She hasn't seen a baby breastfeeding since. Kids are wonderful aren't they?

I'm still BF my three year old DS and have had other people's (weaned) children trying to latch on, or asking for some too. :) They really don't forget that quickly you know!

Toddlers don't forget anything! Particularly if it involves 'choc choc' or going to the park I find...

DD is 4.5 and I stopped feeding her when she was 2.

I still wake up sometimes with her snuggled in beside me, open mouth over my nipple or a hand on my boob.

I should probably wear pyjamas .

We took dd to a bbq when she was 16 months at a friend's house. This is a friend we see infrequently and we didn't visit again until she was at least a year older. She arrived at his house and said "we had a sausage party here". We were surprised she remembered and asked her if she remembered anything else and she looked at our friend with an accusatory stare and declared "YOU put peas on my head in that room there". She pointed at the utility room. Where the frozen peas lived. Which our friend had put on her head after she fell over.

They forget nothing. Especially not embarrassing things which they shouldn't repeat in public. 20 month old ds is just starting to repeat things about memories and will often declare things like "mama nudie postman" in public (it was 2 weeks ago and the postman knocked on the door as I was getting dressed and I yelled at him to wait. DS has summed this up in three damning words!

Interestingly though, dd fed until she was 3 and a half and despite remembering the smallest of details from life at that age, she has no memory whatsoever of bfing.

It never ceases to amaze me how wonderful toddlers really are. It almost makes me broody for DC3. Almost.

What I love about toddlers is that they're never wrong. The associations they make can sometimes make you go ? but once you work it out - the logic is always there!

I stopped breastfeeding DD at 13mo. Now 16months, she is very interested in looking at my bra, but not my boob in particular. Sometimes I say stuff like 'do you remember when the milk was in there?' and she gives me a giant grin. But it's funny, once she was weaned it was like she just knew - no going back, so not bothered.

DS has been going through a boob crazy phase too! He is 3.9 and his last BFeed was on his 2nd birthday, no stress for either of us while stopping. He is speech delayed though so hasn't really talked about it.

I miss BFing SO much. In fact I rarely even dare open threads on this board because I'm not having any more babies and while I don't miss the bone crushing exhaustion that is the baby phase, I would love to BF again.

My DD is 4. She was BF and watched her twin siblings BF.
They are now 2.5 Nd no longer feed. She wants to know why I still need boobies.
They don't have milk so why do I need them.

I won't point out that she rests and completely relaxes when she lays her head there.

I stopped feeding DS at 14mo (he lost interest and weaned himself). He only ever had breastmilk when I offered it, he never asked for it or pulled my top down/up.

He's 24mo now and recently all of a sudden he's developed an interest in my breasts, pulling my top down, wanting to nuzzle at my breasts and sometimes licking the skin above my breasts.. not sure if maybe it's to do with being 37w pregnant but I was definitely surprised.

I stopped breastfeeding when dd was 22 months I was 6 months pregnant at the time. I am now feeding 10 week old dd2 and dd1 will come over and pretend to breastfeed, she makes noises that dd2 makes when her latch isnt quite right but doesn't try lifting my top up or anything. She also pretends to breastfeed her dollys heraelf which is cute as she talks to them whilst she is doing it in the same way I talk to dd2.

DS12 still boob obsessed. Never ever forgotten. BF until 3.5..... I've created a monster.
