eating grapes while breastfeeding

A DF has a 5 day old baby, born 4 weeks prem, and she's got a grape craving at the moment.
Midwife advised her today not to eat any as it would unsettle the baby.
Is this right?

TIA

Drinking wine WHILE breastfeeding is quite tricky. But before and after is fine Grin. My DS seems normal enough and I have to say I'm partial to a couple of glasses most evenings. Not much of a problem these days since DS doesn't feed in the evening, but when he used to I never worried about it.

prob. easier to avoid the wine in case it spills - have a fag instead Grin

Big shock to me that babies are much more robust digestion wise than I thought. I was sooo careful when DD was born - went out of the window after about 3 months and she's been fine...

DS used to get quite bad wind if I ate grapes, peas, beans or curry. I'm getting my fix now before this baby is born in case it's the same way inclined! :)

I ate horseradish once (a recipe with quite a lot of it in, not just a wee dollop with my roast beef) and ds went spare! Seriously, went totally manic and didn't sleep all day (he was quite young at the time). Read in a herbs and herbalisim book that horseradish is a stimulant! Shock No experience with grapes though... Ds doesn't like me eating chocolate :(

Parsnips. Remember eating parsnip soup and DD farting like a squaddie.

I appreciate that you can't extrapolate from dogs to humans. I was being flippant. Difficult to believe that the humble grape could cause organ damage. Even in a dog...
