How long did it take for your periods to settle down after breastfeeding?

I bf my son for 10 months. I then had 1 period 2 months later but haven't had another since (7 weeks on).

Prior to getting pregnant they were v regular 28 day cycles.

It's playing havoc with my hormones- feel like I have almost constant pmt!

Mine returned after DS was about 6 months (was still feeding but had done no night feeds since he was 12 weeks) but they were very irregular & the first few were really far apart. I fell pregnant when DS was just under a year old (we were TTC) & I didn't stop feeding until he was 1. Hope yours settle down soon!

I have been wondering this too, I stopped breastfeeding about 2 and half weeks ago, had abit of spotting straight away which I though was going to be my period and now nothing??

Hi, I'm loving not having a period!! Another reason to keep feeding!! Last time round, mine came back about a month after my DD went onto solids. Even if you're still feeding, if you're not feeding exclusively, or most of the time at least, your period will come back. And don't forget you could be fertile before it actually comes back. Yes I liked not having it but since I've had one now I feel a bit on edge constantly waiting for the next one.

Have finished feeing btw-and he was down to just 3 or 4 when I stopped so do feel lucky to have avoided it for so long!

well i am still feeding but albeit just one or 2 feeds in 24 hours. dd is 13 months.
my period came back at 11 months but i have had nothing since and keep worrying i am pregnant lol!!

My DS is nearly 11 months and I am now just BFing once a day in the morning for past 2 months or so. Got 1st period just over 1 month ago and 2nd just recently so seem to be back to my normal cycle.

My periods came back at 10 months. It took another 6-8 months for the raging PMT to subside. I nearly went to the doctor but it eased oFf in time. You have my sympathy.

Ages - nearly a year after stopping before a normal pattern emerged and stopped BFing at 7.5 months. I had periods every 2 weeks for a bit, skipped one or two and was generally all over the place. Was TTC so doubly difficult as couldn't predict ovulation at all. Not fun.

I'm surprised because with my first child once they returned (a few weeks after I stopped at 5 months) they were back to normal straight away.

Anyway-must have been a case of 'speak of the devil' because period finally arrived this morning (which would explain random crying over insignificant matter yesterday ')

Mine came back like clockwork with DS1 at around 8 months.

Seem to have come back after DS2 (5.5 months) today. :( We'll see how regular they are....

...and after some spotting, my "period" has stopped again. No idea what's going on. Weird body.

Mine came back after about 2 weeks with DS1&2, but they were down to 2 feeds a day.
DS3 8mo still bfs lots!! So no period yet...but DH noticed my tummy was very rounded the other day, and is getting more so. Eeeeek!!!!
FYI, I never get a positive until over 5 weeks, so too early to tell. And get a bump nearly straight away.
