How soon after a c-section could you lie on your side to breastfeed?

Just wondering how long it's likely to be before the pain from side lying is manageable? It was my preferred position with DS - a vaginal delivery. But DC2 will probably be a section next week due to being footling breech.

I've had 4 c-sections and was able to feed lying on my side later the same day.
Just remember to accept pain relief when its offered even if you feel like you don't need it at the time.

For me it was at least a week before I could lie on my side comfortably, and also I didn't like feeding lying down as the baby's feet were then too close to my incision. But after about a week it was fine.

Pretty much straight away I think -well within a couple of days at least

That's great to hear. Side lying night feeds are the only thing that kept me (semi)sane the last time. Thanks ladies.

side lying was fine - trying to sit up was harder at first. Good luck

Thanks.
Also, were you able to roll baby over your body to feed on the other side or did you need help for that?

I think I did manage on the first night but it was hard. Someone will be on the end of a bell to help you though.

That's cool. Thanks.
