i have a question about this not sterilising business. when storing the bottles in a cupboard do they need to be kept in any containers or bags, or is on the shelf ok? also is there a time limit they can be in the cupboard before using them?

As long as the teats are kept covered then on the shelf should be fine, assuming you obviously keep the cupboard clean Smile. I used to stand them on kitchen paper and replace it every time new bottles went in.

Personally I would say max of 24hrs from cleaning, but I never had enough bottles to keep them longer than that before I needed them anyway.

what do you mean by as long as the teats are covered?

With the bottle lids and screwed onto the bottles so that the necks are also kept clean.

I used Avent bottles, I assume others bottles work on the same basis ?

I would clean the whole lot, then put teats in collars, screw onto bottles and cover with the plastic lids. Then just unscrew at the collar to fill the bottle.

And no before you ask, I wasn't lurking waiting to post - was just signing off when I saw you so thought I would reply.

Nighty night Smile
