Has anyone stopped breastfeeding before 1yr old but just gone straight to cow's milk?

I already know a couple of people who did but just wonder what percentage of others did this. It's not my plan at all, I aim to get to 1 yr. Any experiences or thoughts please.

Ooh, let us know how he gets on with it! We started with water, as it was less smelly for the early spills. However, if he is only used to milk, that would probably be better.

It may take a fair few attempts, but we got the impression that her being able to see and feel that it was milk seemed to make baby sense to her (like looking at food on a plate) instead of through a bottle.

Laminate floor is a bonus now, though! (as they mop up yet again...)

DD stopped bf'ing at 7 months and was on cows milk as a drink from them. We weaned at 4 months then and she was on 3 balanced meals a day by then - she still didn't really drink that much milk, mainly water. I stopped bf'ing ds at 9.5 months and he went onto a bottle of cows milk at night and one in the morning.

Still wondering...should I cut down on the feeds now? From 2 to 4? Miss out the mid morn and mid aft ones? Stick with morning and bed time? Help me decide! What did everyone else do?

I'm not cutting back the feeds yet. Mind you, DS is only really taking a good feed in the morning, a not too bad one at bedtime and a couple of short drinks during the day. So I'd like to keep his intake up a bit by offering plenty.

DS uses a doidy cup and also all the tommee tippee ones we bought without putting the lids on. He manages very well with an open cup. To start with we held it and tipped it, now he tips it himself but we keep a hand on the base to grab it back. he doesn't kno how to put it down so just lets go! The doidy is pretty cheap at NCT if you buy 2.

Hi suzi. My ds is taking similar feeds to yours, but the 2 in the day I have to remind myself to offer! He could do with out and I thought it would be good for us to be a little more detached, as he's just growing so much and on the go constantly. This morning though he couldn't have lasted till lunch without one so I'll wait another little while till I think about it again, thatnks for that. Also for the nct info, was going to oreder from bickiepegs but will not now! Ta!
