Day trip to London without bf triplets. Where to express?

Going to London for a day trip in a couple of weeks time. Will be missing 3 feeds. Babies take bottles well, so no issues there, but I feel sore after one missed feed, so not going to cope without some kind of expressing. Problem is, I only have an electric pump. Anyone know where/how I would be able to pump? Plans are lunch, show then pub. Meeting family. But they do not live anywhere close so popping to their house is not an option.

I don't know of anywhere specific, sorry, but are there any Surestart centres near where you are going? They would probably be a good bet.

can you hand express at all? I have had to do that into public toilets from time to time! Alternatively can you buy or borrow a basic manual pump? I find the Avent manual pump quite effective. Will you be anywhere near somewhere like Mothercare - they may allow you briefly unplug the bottle warmer in the babycare room in order to plug in your pump if you ask in advance? Surestart is a good idea but they tend to be out in residential places. Definitely worth looking up though.

I would second the idea of getting a cheap hand pump which you can carry around- I have the lasinoh one which is pretty good.

Also maybe John Lewis or Mothercare feeding rooms would be an option? Perhaps you could even plug your pump in there?

You could also contact La Leche league for advice/support- they're bound to have various brances in London. Also I bet they'd love to hear from someone BFing triplets!

there's a fantastic breastfeeding room with a lovely rocking chair in the basement at the Wallace Collection on Manchester Square which is just behind Selfridges / Oxford Street. Masses of good lunch options very close by (even in their lovely atrium restaurant)
Westfield at Shepherds Bush has one too but not nearly as lovely / private / clean & unused.

Do you have a battery pack for you electric pump? Or can you get one?

I went to London when dd was 6 weeks ols. I expressed in the loos of prezzo on regent street! And also in the car on the way home :-)

I know that in brum, debenhams has a lovely baby room that isn't a loo so bigger dept stores might be worth trying. I know John Lewis have a good reputation for that kid of thing?

Oh, and I have an electric tommee tippee pump which I was able to put batteries in and it worked fine. Main trouble was I filled an 8oz bottle with two pumping sessions- so with you feeding triplets you'll have a dairy full!

Perhaps if you rock up at a hospital you can pump enough to keep the whole of their SCBU going?!

Depends where you are but range from st Thomas's hospital, John Lewis, westfield. Museums and restaurants might be helpful if you ask. I imagine if you ask the restaurant you eat lunch in if they have a private area you could use after meal most will

Thanks for all the replies, didn't even think of batteries. Have checked my medala swing and it can run on batteries, so that bit sorted. Just need to suss out a feeding room and can sit and pump! Will check out your suggestions. Bit gutted that will have to pump and dump, but don't think my cool bag will last for the whole day.
Thanks also for your high fives. The secret is a Brest friend feeding cushion, plus they were only 6 weeks early and good sizes (4 1/2- 5 1/2lbs) so took to feeding very well. At 6 months I introduced a bottle at every feed to speed things up, so currently bf 2, bottle feeding 3rd next to me and mumsnetting

John Lewis on Oxford street has a parents room with feeding areas, it's on the 4th floor with the baby stuff so you'd be fine there.

Sorry no idea about specific places in London but had to post to say I too am in awe of you. Wonderful multi tasking - did I read it right that you bf two while simultaneously bottle feeding the third. Wow.

Showtunesgirl, not sure where we are going for lunch, leaving that up to my London based sisters, but going to see Chorus Line. Beyond excited. In-laws coming over to help DH, so guilt free trip

Oh and KD, yep, multitasking is the way forward. Babies can bf hands free in rugby hold on cushion, so can bottle feed third and have other hand free for mumsnetting, or playing with my 2 1/2 yr old.

I struggle with a 1 year old and an almost 3 year old.

Just wanted to say I think the flag ship mamas and papas on argylle street had shut...I think that's the one near the palladium...I might be wrong but worth checking

Just to update you all
Had London trip yesterday. Had a lovely lunch then saw A Chorus Line, which was fab (though not sure of Christian from EE as director). Expressed in John Lewis after show with no drama, though had to wait a bit for a cubicle to become free. DH coped at home with grandparents help so all in all a successful outing!
